At Euronaval, Paris Le Bourget, Thales is unveiling NFI Light, a stand alone cabinet, easily installable, that provides immediate access to all the services offered by Naval Force Intranet. This solution allows naval forces to equip ships with up-to-date networking solutions.

Thanks to its experience on large and extended Naval Force Intranet capability, already operationally implemented, Thales has developed NFI Light, a simple, easy to install solution that completes the Thales existing NFI system family.

NFI Light provides essential services for multi-platform collaborative working, by integrating and managing all together the potential communication bearers such as HF, VHF, UHF, Satcom, etc. This new system is physically in the form of a stand alone cabinet, very easy to install on board, re-using either existing radio equipments or new items as necessary.

Naval Force Intranet solutions developed by Thales aim at establishing computer-based wide area networks at sea via broadband satellite communication bearers and other communication mediums. These systems allow navies to rapidly move information around their ships, share tactical information and communicate with headquarters and allies. They are an efficient response to the increased tempo of modern military operations.

Naval Force Intranet also improves quality of life for sailors serving on board ships by enabling them to have increased contact with their families and loved ones through improved email and Internet access capabilities.
